Brief About Radiant Barriers

One of Akshar CoPack LLC’s key products is the Radiant Barrier Thermal Heat Insulation Material, manufactured using 99% pure aluminium foil combined with high-quality HDPE fabric. This product offers excellent thermal performance and is widely used in the building industry for roof insulation, under-roof applications, room insulation, factory sheds and various industrial KI applications.

Due to its high reflectivity and low emissivity, the radiant barrier reflects approximately 95–97% of radiant heat, significantly reducing heat transfer and improving indoor comfort. It is recognized as an energy-efficient, eco-friendly building material that is durable, cost-effective and easy to install, making it an ideal choice for industrial and commercial applications.

In 1925, German businessmen Schmidt and Dykerhoff filed patents for reflective surfaces used in building insulation after technological advancements made aluminium foil economically viable.

A radiant barrier is a building material designed to reflect thermal radiation and minimize heat transfer. Since heat transfer also occurs through conduction and convection, radiant barriers are often combined with other insulation materials to further reduce overall heat flow.

Radiant barriers feature a low-emissivity, mirror-like aluminium surface that reflects radiant heat. This reflective layer may be applied on one or both sides and can be bonded with insulating materials such as polyisocyanurate, rigid foam, bubble insulation, or OSB boards. Reflective tapes can be used to create a continuous vapour barrier, or the material can be perforated to allow controlled vapour transmission.
